Smartphones & School

Today we spent the period practicing our website evaluation skills and considering how important our phones are to us. After discussing the credibility of the site, we took the Smartphone Compulsion Test and did some reflection on our scores. Afterward, I shared a bit of research on smartphone use and then explained my electronics policy.

Rules, Norms, and Smartphones

Today we started a longer look at smartphones and their place in our classroom with a bit of reflection. We also continued our discussion of rules and norms, coming up with some classroom norms we can hopefully all agree on.

Grading & Rules

Today we spent a few minutes looking at our first graded assignment and talking about how grading works in this class. After that, we started a discussion about the importance of rules in society. More on that Monday.
